Under The Spotlight - Loyalty Cards

This week we launched our Loyalty Card scheme. We've been thinking long and hard about a way to give something back to our customers as a thank you for your custom and continued support.

So basically, the way the Loyalty Card scheme works is that for every £3.25 bag of melts you buy, you get a stamp on your Loyalty Card. When you have 9 stamps, you qualify for a FREE bag of melts.

To qualify for a stamp, your bags must have been purchased at the full price, any promo bags, sale bags or any bags where a percentage is given to charity do not qualify for this scheme. You are responsible for the postage on the free bag unless you already have an outstanding order with us where the bag can be added without incurring any extra postage charges.

No physical Loyalty Cards will be handed out, everything will be handled electronically by uploading your Loyalty Card with the required amount of stamps into a Loyalty Card album with your name against it so you can keep track of how close you are to your FREE bag!

We hope that you like this new idea as it is a thank you to you all for your continued support in making Melting Moments the success it has become.

In the kitchen this week...

In the kitchen this week Mel has been making the new two-layered, double scented candles.

These come in your choice of 2 colours and 2 scents and it comes in a cute little jar with a screw-top lid to keep your candle fresh and prolong the scent of your candle. These candles have a 30+ hour burn time.

The candle in the photo is scented in Chocolate & Orange but the possibilities are endless with our huge range of scents. Strawberry & Vanilla has been suggested by a few of our customers or maybe even Lemon & Lime.

These candles are now available for only £6.50

Under The Spotlight - Starter Kits

We get a lot of people asking what wax melts are and how they work which prompted me to write the Beginners Guide To Wax Melts blog http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7661246407295680293#editor/target=post;postID=909734008250545403;onPublishedMenu=allposts;onClosedMenu=allposts;postNum=5;src=postname This also prompted us to come up with something which had everything you need to get started with wax melts.

After a brain-storming session, we came up with the Starter Kits which contain a burner, a random assortment of 10 wax melts and 3 unscented tea lights all presented in an organza bag. This kit contains everything you need to get started except the matches or a lighter!

We currently have 2 different types of burner available to go in these Starter Kits but both types are in various colours.

The first type is the Cut Out Leaf Burner which is available in Blue, Lime, Cream, Brown & Pink

The second type is the Tear Drop Burner which is available in Brown, Red, Blue, Pink & Purple

These are a great way to get started or you can simply sample our different scents at a great price!

The Starter Kits are £6.00 each

Shop space....

In the kitchen this week Mel has been busy busy busy!! We managed to get some shop space in the lovely Candy Cavern in Deal.

Candy Cavern is a lovely little sweet shop run by  Kelly with a great selection of sweets for people of all ages. Pop over to their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/candycavern and take a look!

We were very excited at the prospect of having our products in a shop and after having loads of ideas about what to put in the shop, we decided to put a small selection of Starter Kits, Doughnut melts, Chocolate Slab melts & Cupcake Melts.

Hopefully the stock will do well in the shop and we will have a long business relationship with Kelly and Candy Cavern! If you're ever in Deal, please pop into Candy Cavern and take a look around!

Under The Spotlight - Springtime Box

I know there will be those of you who see a product on our Facebook page and like the sound of it but are still not sure about whether to give it a try, I've decided to try and help you out by doing a product review. Each week I will review a different product (feel free to email me at MeltingMomentsUK@gmail.com with any product you would like reviewed and will feature it in future blogs) and this week I will be reviewing the Springtime Box.

Our Springtime Box is 30 wax melts scented in Very Berry, Hothouse Flowers, Breezes & Sunshine & Butterfly Meadows all presented in a cute box and finished off with ribbon. These are priced at £7.00 per box. These are great value for money because if you use 4hr tea lights and 2 melts at a time, based on 3 burns at 4 hours each, you would get approximately 180 hours burn time from this box!

Mel carefully chose these particular scents to give a real springtime fragrance to, not only the box, but also to your home.

Very Berry is a mix of Strawberries, Blackberries & Blueberries perfect for those spring months, heading into the summer.

Hothouse Flowers is a blend of rich exotic florals reminiscent of your garden as your flowers are coming into bloom.

Breezes & Sunshine is an aromatic blend of citrus, fresh marine notes and flowers.

Butterfly Meadows is a refreshing blend of dandelion, verbena and spring meadows.

All of these scents together in a box smell AMAZING! Try melting 2 different scents together, you'll be surprised at the fragrances you can create!

If you weren't sure about the Springtime Box, I'm hoping that after reading this, you may just be tempted!

New Scents This Week...

I thought I'd share some of the new scents that have arrived here at Melting Moments HQ.

I will do my best to describe them as best I can but please bear in mind that people interpret different smells in different ways.

Each new scent that arrives, I get to smell it straight from the bottle in it's oil form and then again as the finished product, either melts or candles.

So our latest scents to arrive are the following:

Hot Fudge - If you've ever walked into a fudge shop where they are making the fudge on the premises, this is the scent of the aroma of hot buttery fudge that greets you as you walk into the shop. From the bottle, I like the scent of this but the finished product is amazing!!

Breezes & Sunshine - I think of all the new scents, this is probably my favourite. It's an aromatic blend of citrus, fresh marine notes and fresh summer flowers. It just has a really fresh smell without being too florally. The citrus is very subtle but it just gives this scent a slightly different dimension. This really is a "must-try" if you like fresh scents!

Cotton Blossom - Not to be confused with Clean Cotton! This is more of a "just taken out of the washing machine" scent, that's the best way I can describe it lol. I love it because I love fresh scents and I think everyone should give this one a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Pineapple - If you think of the taste of Pineapple Chunks (the sweets), that is the scent of this one. This is a true pineapple scent for pineapple lovers

Dragons Blood - I don't think this scent will be for everyone's taste, it's a potent and earthy fragrance infused with cedarwood, orange & patchouli, personally I think it has a distinct musky scent but not to be confused with White Musk. Worth a try if you like earthy scents.

Hummingbird - From the description of this one, I wasn't really sure what to expect but upon opening the bottle, everything came together and it truly is a lovely scent. It's a mix of kiwi, lilac, tiger lily, pineapples & pears but please don't be put off if there's anything in there that you don't like the sound of because I don't like kiwi or lilac but with the other scents it gives it a totally spin. You really must give this one a try!

Well I hope I've given you a little more of an insight into the new scents and maybe even tempted you to try something you wouldn't necessarily have chosen.

Beginners Guide to Wax Melts

Surprisingly there are people that have never heard of wax melts! We still have people asking how to use them so I thought I would put together a quick guide on how to use wax melts safely

All you need to get started is a burner, some melts, a tealight and a lighter or matches. You simply pop 1 or 2 melts in the well of your burner (your preference as to how many, I use 2), pop a tealight in the hole under the well and light it. The heat from the flame will melt the wax and the fragrance will scent your room!

Ok so now the technical stuff lol.... Dependent on what tealight you use, I use 4hr ones, you will get approximately 3-4 burns from the 1 or 2 melts that you put in the well of your burner, equating to 12-16 hours of burn time before the scent dissipates. You'll know when the scent has gone as you'll only be able to smell wax when burning, the wax WILL NOT disappear like a candle does as there is no direct heat source to the wax, ie the heat doesn't touch the wax directly.

Once the scent has gone or if you just fancy a change of scent, light your tealight to loosen the wax slightly and just pop it out, either throw it away if no longer required or store it away for future use.

In the kitchen this week.....

Mel is finally back in the kitchen after the kitchen re-fit which seemed to go on FOREVER!!!

Thank you to each and every one of you for bearing with us during this time, it took wayyyyyy longer than expected!

Having been away from the kitchen for almost a month, we were buzzing with new ideas which we were itching to get made and show you guys.

For those of you that have been keeping tabs on our Facebook page, you will have seen our fantastic Cupcake melts which turned out a lot better than I ever imagined they would so a huge WELL DONE to Mel!

So let me tell you a bit about how the Cupcake Melts came about..

Mel loves Buttercream Cupcakes and saw some cupcake candles whilst browsing online and thought she'd like to have a go at making them. First came the Mini Cupcakes mould which whilst they were nice, still weren't quite what she was looking for, so she did some more research and came across a couple of different moulds and different ideas. Needless to say, the moulds arrived when the kitchen was out of action so she couldn't try them out....until this week!! The Cupcake Melts were born and I personally couldn't picture what they would turn out like but I was totally impressed at the results!

Mel is now working on making Cupcake Candles, so keep your eyes peeled for updates on these!!
